Mauricio Campos González

Assistant Conductor

Mauricio Campos González is a pianist and conductor from Mexico City, based in Boston. He has served as assistant conductor and stage manager for the Turkish American Orchestra since September 2024. Mauricio previously served as Associate Conductor of the Berklee Contemporary Symphony Orchestra, where he worked with Maestro Julius Williams, and as Resident Music Director of the Young Professional Musicians Collective in Boston.

He studied piano at the National Conservatory of Music in Mexico City before relocating to Boston in 2021, where he continued his studies in piano and conducting at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee. There, he studied piano with Max Levinson and conducting with Dr. Geneviève Leclair and graduated summa cum laude as salutatorian. Mauricio was a recipient of the Ricardo and Professor Hans Lewitus Scholarship at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee. 

As a pianist, Mauricio has performed at the Harvard Chamber Music Festival in Massachusetts and the Fulton Summer Music Academy, where he also studied with Hungarian pianist Peter Takács. Other conducting activities have included a Fellowship at the Conductor’s Institute of South Carolina and the Conductors Retreat at Medomak.

An enthusiastic teacher and educator, Mauricio Campos González has an active studio as a piano teacher in Boston and previously taught music history and theory in Mexico. He has also been involved in coordinating artistic residencies and educational programs for the Fulton Music Society of Chicago, particularly in collaboration with conservatories in his native Mexico.
